Spinal Cord Injury Alberta was founded in 1961 and currently provides services to individuals with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities in 9 locations across Alberta. Our mission is to empower persons with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities to achieve independence and full community participation. The needs of albertans with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities are served using six core service areas which include: rehabilitation support and service coordination; community development and systemic change; aboriginal services; peer program; information services; and active living. It often takes a split second and your life is altered forever—we are here to provide a lifetime of support.

The Leadership Centre has been operating for 16 years, helping to create a strong, vibrant central Alberta by developing our leaders. The centre proudly offers leadership development opportunities including our leadership networks programs and our annual leadership conference here in central Alberta. We ensure that our learning days take place in a variety of meeting spaces with  participation from the private, public and non-profit sectors.  We believe that learning does not only come from our facilitators but also comes from understanding others experiences and perspectives. With the community as our classroom, we aim to provide participants from diverse backgrounds with unique learning experiences about the services and organizations within our community.
